Another month has come and gone, and with that comes another list of # things I loved that particular month. February was full of classes, assignments, seeing friends, and moving back to school, but overall, I'd say it was a fairly dandy month. So let's just get into it:
1. Brooke Shields' "There Was A Little Girl"
I have been making a conscious effort to read for fun this semester and I recently picked up this book from the "Bargain Books" shelf at my campus' bookstore (shouts to the Bookmark). I haven't quite finished it yet, but so far I am absolutely enthralled by the story Brooke Shields is telling about her mother and their relationship as mother and daughter. And I honestly am not a die-hard Brooke Shields fan and knew very little about her prior to grabbing this book, so I would say that my love of this book comes from the entertaining narratives and wild stories she shares.
2. Fabletics Leggings
I am very passionate about my leggings. You could say that I live in my leggings. My dad made a joke the other day that I must have a hard time picking out my sweatshirt and leggings for my outfit every day. And this was correct until I splurged and got two pairs of Fabletics leggings (not sponsored, but if anyone from Fabletics is reading this and even remotely interested feel free to hit me up). I have always had an issue finding leggings that are long enough, not see-through, and comfortable. So when I had an opportunity to get two pairs for a relatively low chance I decided to try it out and see what they hype about Fabletics is all about. And, boy, they did not let me down. I highly recommend these leggings--and not only because they're cute!
3. Roller Glow highlighter
I recently had the opportunity to try out Kaja Beauty's new Roller Glow highlighter through an influencer program and I love it so much. I don't know if it's the hue of the highlighter, the roll-on applicator, or the packaging, but I just think this product is amazing. And not just because I got it for free! I am a picky gal when it comes to highlighters, so I promise, this raving review comes from the heart.
4. Bullet Journal Community on IG
I briefly mentioned in my last blog post that I started an Instagram account for my bullet journal and I could honestly not be happier with that decision. I have found a great community of like-minded, positive, and all-around great creative people who get my love for bullet journaling. I wanted to include this because it really has made the past month so much better and more positive.
5. Trello
My friend Molly and I co-host a podcast together and have decided to attempt to be more professional with the management of said podcast (mostly because we invested a lot of money--for two college students--into the podcast interface we use and also we love making episodes). I have used Trello on and off for blog management and general life organization, but we are using it currently to organize our podcast. And let me tell you--it makes group management and organization so much easier. I love how easy the interface is and how you can customize the backgrounds and create a plethora of pages. I honestly don't think I love an organizational tool more--and that's saying something.
I love blogs and searching for new blogs to read in one sitting. And, recently, I have been loving The Wonder Forest blog because it mixes lifestyle, creativity, and books (among other things) all into one very aesthetically pleasing blog. I aspire to run a blog like this someday, but until then I will settle on waiting for email notifications for new posts on The Wonder Forest.
7. Good Girls
I went through a phase in which I just did not find watching TV, Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime appealing. I felt as though I could be doing many different, and better, things with my time rather than watching a show for hours on end. That ended when I stumbled upon NBC's show Good Girls. I am obsessed with this wild show that is full of twists and turns. It's a comedy meets true crime (sort of?) meets sitcom. It honestly doesn't get much better than that. Also, the ladies who star in it are heckin' fantastic.
8. Pretty Basic podcast
I'm obsessed with podcasts. You know it. I know it. My neighbors know it. But I am also a big fan of lifestyle YouTubers who help me pretend my life isn't on the verge of going up in flames. And two of my all-time favorite YouTubers to watch started a podcast: Remi Cruz and Alisha Marie. Pretty much, this is my dream form of entertainment come true. And Pretty Basic does not let me down and every episode is entertaining, thoughtful, and informative. It's also kind of a miracle that I'm recommending a podcast that isn't true crime related, right? I think that goes to show just how much I love this podcast.
9. Racquetball
Moving back to school has made my motivation to work out hit an all-time low. When I finish classes, work, and meetings the only thing that sounds good is sitting on my futon and watching Good Girls. But on a whim my good friend Molly suggested we try a different kind of workout to make working out seem more like a game than a chore: playing racquetball. There are a few courts in our high-quality student gym and Molly and I have made good use of them. It is honestly my new favorite workout.
10. Lemmings Game
One of my favorite pastimes when I am deathly bored is to scroll through the app store and see if there are any new apps that peak my interest. One of my favorite sections is the "free games we love", in which I discover a plethora of games to aid in my chronic procrastination. I recently found a game called "Lemmings" in which the player has a goal to save a certain number of Lemmings by helping them through a maze of sorts. I would say it's kind of a puzzle meets survival game. And I love it.
