Weekly Updates//Goals: April 22

I haven't quite hit my blogging stride post-spring break yet, but I am still here chugging along. So if you are reading this, I thank you for sticking along with me as I attempt to get a schedule back in place.

I am currently finishing up Easter break (something I desperately needed, even though we finished spring break like two weeks ago...) and have, luckily, had some time to attempt to get my life in order. Attempt being the key word. So, let's get to it:

Updates from last week:

1. Finish listening to Michelle Obama's book: "Becoming": I did not quite finish the entire book, but I certainly made some big strides. I believe I listened to about five hours total and have a little over ten hours left! That may sound like a lot, but it's not when Michelle Obama is reading her book to you.

2. Drink two water bottles a day: I did so well in terms of this goal early in the week, but slowly fell off the wagon as I forgot my water bottle in my room, turned to coffee instead, and all together forgot. But I shall not give up: there is always another week to get better at my hydration skills!

3. Observe my mom's classroom for Inclusive Classrooms: Ding, ding, ding! We have a goal Ella actually accomplished. Over Easter break I observed my mom's classroom and am ready to rock and roll on the next part of the assignment: the paper.

Goals for next week:

1. Start a book for fun: I have officially finished all the books on my Young Adult Literature book list for the semester (and all of them have been fantastic, let me tell you--later in a book review perhaps?). And I have loved how relaxing reading has been for me, so I hope to integrate it more without the threat of a syllabus to stick to.

2. Pack more things to bring home: The past two years of packing to go home have been, well, hectic. I attempted to send things home earlier last year but drastically underestimated the amount of sweatshirts I had, not to mention three-tier organizers. So to combat spending my last day at Gustavus stressing about whether or not I can fit my lamp in my Ford Focus, I'm hoping to pack some things up and ship them home early. Dear God I hope I do this, for both me and my roommate's sanity.

3. Write a book review: I haven't written one of these bad boys in a hot second, and I have read some good books lately. So it just makes sense to get back into that habit. Let's hope that typing it into the world makes it happen (please, if you see me, tell me to write a gd book review).
